The Birth Center – Best Practice Recognitions!

The Birth Center recently received a 2020 Certificate of National Best Practice, awarded by the American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM) AND 2020 Best Practices - Triple Aim Achievement recognition from the Institute for Health Care Improvement (IHCI). This is the third consecutive year that The Birth Center has received the Triple Aim Achievement recognition.

Certificate of National Best Practice

The Certificate of National Best Practice is based on self-reported benchmark survey data. The 2020 outcome affirms The Birth Center to be one of only three midwifery practices (out of 52 participating practices in the nation) to have HIGH rates of intact perineums (minimal tears in labor) and very LOW or NO admissions to NICU’s following birth, compared to the others. The purpose of naming “best practice” is to recognize practices that are performing well, and to share that information with other ACNM members who they might contact to discuss how to improve their performance.

Triple Aim Achievement

The Triple Aim Achievement award acknowledges The Birth Center for our LOW C-section rates, HIGH breastfeeding rates, and having reported our fiscal outcomes in 2020 and how these improve the patient experience, reduce cost of care, and improve the health of populations.

We are happy and proud to be able to share these acknowledgments of our care for women and babies, because we do deeply care about what we do and we work hard to offer prenatal and birth care that is satisfying, safe and creates a “Nice Way for a Family to Be Born.”
